Dr. Christopher Moran hosts Reception & Dinner on Elizabeth I by George Gower, Serjeant-Painter to Elizabeth I, with National Portrait Gallery and Yale Center for British Art at Crosby Moran Hall

On Monday, 7th October 2024, Dr. Christopher Moran, President of Co-operation Ireland, was pleased to host a Reception & Dinner at Crosby Moran Hall together with the National Portrait Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art to discuss the portrait of Elizabeth I by George Gower, Serjeant-Painter to Elizabeth I, now in the Crosby Moran Hall Collection.

Guest speakers were: Dr. Simon Thurley, CBE, FSA; Dr. Charlotte Bolland, FSA, Senior Curator, Research & 16th Century Collections, National Portrait Gallery; and Dr. Edward Town, Paintings and Sculpture, Yale Center for British Art.

Following the Reception & Dinner, guests viewed the ongoing restoration and rebuilding project at Crosby Moran Hall together with its collections of Tudor, Elizabethan & Early Stuart furniture, pictures, metals, arms & armour, etc.
